Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas is searching for a Head of Rigging.
Reporting to the Operations Production Manager, this position will be responsible for leading the rigging team in establishing and maintaining the safe and consistent operations of all show rigging systems and acrobatic equipment for all performances of LOVE as well as advising all departments on matters of overhead safety and fall protection; Manage and supervise the Rigging Department; including completing staff performance reviews, assisting with the hiring of new employees, and managing budgets and capital expense projections with the Operations Production Manager; Plan staff requirements and schedules for all maintenance and training calls;
Other critical skills are troubleshooting and overseeing of operation of show rigging systems and acrobatic equipment during performances; Develop inspection and maintenance schedules and procedures, and participate in inspections; Establish and maintain training and backup plans to ensure continuity in performance operations of the Rigging Department; Maintain and update the rigging installation specifications, inventory of rigging and acrobatic material and equipment, as well as all pertinent inspection and maintenance records;
The ideal candidate will have 10 years' experience in theatrical and/or circus rigging, with five years in a similar position on large-scale productions. Experience with motorized and manual counterweight systems and acrobatic rigging installations and knowledge of OSHA regulations are a must. Knowledge of sport climbing hardware an asset;
